THE USE OF STEP LADDERS IN STORE
american golf have procedures for the safe use of step ladders in store. These procedures detail that:
¥ Step ladders may be needed for low risk, short-duration tasks, for example:
- When putting up hanging POS on the shop floor or - When accessing stock from the racking in the stockroom or the shelves on the sales floor.
¥ Stores that require step ladders have been supplied with ones that conform with British/European standards and the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Stores are only allowed to use step ladders and not leaning ladders; kick stools may also be used.
¥ Stepladders are inspected regularly for defects by the store management team as part of their weekly safety checks and a more detailed check which is carried out once each month. Each user however should visually check the step ladder before each use to ensure it is fit for purpose. |
